Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull

{4/5} “If you want to be a good archaeologist, you’ve got to get out of the library.”

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, released in 2008

A Russian named Irina Spalko gets away with the corpse of a Roswell alien from Area 51, and Indiana Jones barely gets away with his life. The FBI isn’t happy about Jones helping the Russians, and they get him fired from his teaching job. When a kid named Mutt tells Jones that his old friend Professor Oxley is in trouble, Jones listens. It turns out that Mutt is the son of Marion Ravenwood.

It is always delightful to see Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, and Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood.

I liked it better this time. There’s some silliness, but there always was. The ending is still disappointing, but there’s lots to like in the rest of the movie.

The jungle scenes were filmed in Hawaii.

Stars Cate Blanchett, Shia LaBeouf, John Hurt, and Jim Broadbent. Directed by Steven Spielberg (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). The glorious music is by John Williams.

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it.
