Shrek the Third

{4/5} “This is like totally embarrassing, but my friend Tiffany thinkest thou vex her so soothly and she thought perchance thou would want to ask her to the homecoming dance or something.”

Shrek the Third, released in 2007

Shrek and Fiona are filling in for the king and queen while the king is sick, but they’re not exactly enjoying it. When Harold, the frog king, is on his death bed he tells Shrek that he must become king — either him or Arthur. Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots head out on a ship to find cousin Arthur. Fiona tells Shrek she’s pregnant, but he’s not sure he’s ready to be a father.

There’s a bit more slapstick in this one. “Live and Let Die” is a very strange song for a funeral, even for a Shrek movie.

But it has a nice message and there’s lots of fun with your friends.

Stars the voices of Eric Idle and Justin Timberlake. Directed by Chris Miller (story artist on Antz) and Raman Hui (supervising animator on Shrek 2). The music is by Harry Gregson-Williams.
