A “balanced” viewpoint isn’t best

They suspect that developers may have imagined that taking some news from the left and some from the right is somehow “balanced.” I don’t know anyone who has an Alexa, but 71 million people do.

In my opinion, for the foreseeable future, if you want to look something up you should use a search engine and check the source yourself.

Here’s Steve Shives on a similar topic but a different context. He points out that when you have a debate, it’s implicit that each side of the debate has a valid point of view.
