The Rookie (season 1)
{5/5} “Those lost seconds didn’t matter this time, but they may in the future. So celebrate the victory, but recognize — you’ve got work to do.”
The Rookie season 1, aired in 2018-19
John Nolan used to be in construction but he decided to go to the police academy even though he was older that all the other students. Now he’s on the force and he’s with two other rookies, one of whom, Lucy, he’s secretly dating. His fellow officers are skeptical of his abilities. When John’s former teacher goes on the run with his kid, John isn’t happy he has to chase him.
This show might not be quite as funny as Castle but it does have a nice sense of humour. If you watch the first episode, you’ll know you want to watch it.
It’s about friendship, learning new skills, and teamwork.
The only thing I don’t like is when they show bodycam footage, inevitably when the wearer is running — it’s too jerky for my taste.
Guest stars include Stephen Lang and Felicia Day.
Stars Nathan Fillion, Melissa O’Neil, Afton Williamson, and Mercedes Mason.
Created by Alexi Hawley (writer of a bunch of episodes of Castle).
