The Last Spark of Hope

{4.5/5} “You served and led an army of robots during the wars. Your memory has been erased.”

The Last Spark of Hope, released in 2023

Eva lives on top of a mountain with her robot Arthur who is programmed to protect her. She still has a truck that works and she uses it to go into town when she needs to, although Arthur thinks it’s dangerous. In town there isn’t anyone around, because everyone’s dead. But she has to wear an oxygen mask in order to breathe. She spray paints her coordinates onto a big sign, just in case anyone sees it.

This is a Polish movie.

It’s about what happens when your life gets upended, even though there’s only one other being around to upend it.

I like how Eva and Arthur play a riddle-guessing game.

The 2nd half is fairly serious.

Stars Jacek Beler and Magdalena Wieczorek. Directed by Piotr Biedron (his first movie).
