Humans (season 1)

{4.5/5} “Humanity. It’s not a state, it’s a quality. Max is a machine, but he’s got more humanity than anyone.”

Humans season 1, aired in 2015

Joe buys his family a synth when his wife Laura is out of town for a few days. She is against it, but they can take it back up to 30 days. They call the robot Anita, but she was previously free out in the wild and was recaptured. She is efficient at cooking and cleaning. Laura is a bit suspicious when she find Anita out looking at the moon.

The premise is similar to Better Than Us, but it’s different enough to be worth watching.

It’s about the tension between humans and synths, and the small group of synths who are not like than the others. It’s about people who think the special synths should be helped and people who think they should be destroyed.

The story builds to a splendid season finale.

Stars Katherine Parkinson, Gemma Chan, Tom Goodman-Hill, and William Hurt.

Created by Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent (Better), it was based on a Swedish show.
