ST: Lower Decks — Warp Your Own Way

{4.5/5} “It’s like — what are the odds we’re the only ship in the quadrant, right? Surely there’s someone else nearby who can help and get here quickly — thanks to their standard-issue engines that let them travel at thousands of times the speed of light???

Star Trek: Lower Decks — Warp Your Own Way by Ryan North, published in 2024

When Mariner wakes up she has no idea what might be in store today — partying with the “god” Dionysus, assimilation by the Borg, finding Boimler with a bunch of tribbles, or facing off against Khan. For some reason whether she has coffee, raktajino, or tea has a big effect on her day.

This is a choose-your-own-adventure graphic novel. Read it on a day when you don’t mind dying a bunch of times.

There were two parts that I looked up on the internet how to do. You actually had to figure them out from hints within the text — it didn’t occur to me that would be the case. I was a bit annoyed by this — other than that, I liked it a lot.

The characters seem like themselves, and the artwork is splendid.

Ultimately, it’s about how you can get things done when you have a good team.

This is the 1st book I’ve read by North.
