Eclectic board game lists
I always look at Board Game Geek for board game stuff — typically when I want to buy a new game. There’s a lot of stuff on their site from forums to reviews of games to videos that explain how to play games. Here are a few pages I’ve been known to visit.
This is the master list of all games, sorted in order of rating. The most popular game at the moment is Brass: Birmingham. People in my friend/family group have 11 games in the top 100. I thought it might be more but a lot of the top ones are super long ones which we don’t play:

If you’re looking for a game that’s an award winner, you can check this page (“Spiel des Jahres” is “Game of the Year” in German). A game we played as kids, Scotland Yard, won the award in 1983. Then Catan won it in 1995. We (the royal we) have 18 games on this list:
