Dr. Mayakovsky has cancer — royal jelly from a xenomorph has helped. So he decided to get his own jelly. He and his colleague built an android that looked like a xenomorph to infiltrate their hive. They run simulations with it before taking it to a planet with a hive on it. There are already some humans on the planet doing what they were going to do — so they just take it from them.
This story is about people and aliens who are ruthless.
It has some great ideas in it — an android that looks like a xenomorph, and having a cloak that masks their lifesigns so they can go in the hive.
There are exciting and intense sections.
As sometimes happens in comics, there were one or two moments I found confusing.
The art by Kelley Jones is much more suited to this universe than that of Newt’s Tale. The covers, also by Jones, are terrific.
