Star Trek: A Small Matter of Faith by Martin Pasko, published in Nov. 1988
Captain James T. Kirk responds to a distress call, but the people who made it are not in distress. Making use of ancient Lavinian technology, they manage to overpower the crew in the transporter room, and then make their way to the bridge. The ship is being held by some power and the aliens give Kirk an ultimatum — put the ship in their hands within 4 hours or be destroyed.
The overall story is all right but there are too many details that don’t make sense, like Spock behaving illogically.
The artwork by Gray Morrow is OK.
This is the last issue of the 1st run of Star Trek DC Comics. The 2nd run started the following year when they went back to issue #1 to align with their brand new TNG comic.
