Spock is having trouble recovering after the Fal Tor Pan. Captain Styles is ordered to retrieve Admiral Kirk and the Klingon ship, which he does gladly. On the way back to Earth they receive a distress call from the starship Courageous, assigned to Starbase 13.
In the Mirror Universe Captain Kirk destroys space station Regula I after getting the data he needs from Carol Marcus. Now he’s ready to conquer the other universe. When they arrive, they come across Starbase 13.
This story takes place after Star Trek III.
Like most old comics it’s melodramatic and there are some details that don’t make sense. The mind meld between the two Spocks kicks things up a notch.
The story features Saavik, Marlena Moreau, and David Marcus. It is, of course, a sequel to the episode “Mirror, Mirror.”
The cover on the 1991 edition by Ken Christie is magnificent. The inside artwork by Tom Sutton and Ricardo Villagran is good.
This is the 2nd time I’ve read it.
