Star Trek: Class Reunion
{4.5/5} “‘You’ve got to learn not to take Uhura too seriously, Nina — unless she’s on duty.’ ‘Then you always take her seriously.'” — Sulu & Chekov
Star Trek: Class Reunion by Howard Weinstein, published in 4 issues from Nov. 1991 to Feb. 1992
When the Starfleet reunion comes around, Captain James T. Kirk isn’t sure he’s going to go. But his crewmates want to go and they convince him to go with them. Chekov’s cousin Nina comes aboard to work with Dr. McCoy. Kirk’s old friend Vickie comes up to him at the party and tells him that her husband is dead. She thinks he was murdered — and she wants Kirk to help her prove it.
It’s about an investigation into a conspiracy to provoke a war. Sulu gets a nice romance, and Sulu and Uhura spend some quality time together.
The artwork by Gordon Purcell and Arne Starr is great.
This is the 2nd time I’ve read it.
I’ve read 5 novels and a bunch of comic books by Weinstein. I previously reviewed Star Trek: Mission — Muddled.
