Agents of SHIELD (season 5)

{5/5} “An old woman tells you that she was your daughter and that you’ll save the planet from cracking apart — doesn’t happen every day.”

Agents of SHIELD season 5, aired in 2017-18

The team unexpectedly finds themselves aboard a spaceship, sent there by a monolith. One of the people on the ship says they’re there to save humanity — somehow he knows who they are. They eventually figure out that they’ve travelled into the future — a future where Earth has been destroyed. Meanwhile, Fitz is back on Earth trying to figure out how to bring his friends home.

The situation the agents are in is very different, but it’s still brilliant. Our old friend Lance Hunter makes a welcome return in one episode.

The musical cue for Kasius’s henchwoman Sinara is delightful.

The season finale was devastating but beautiful.

Stars Natalia Cordova-Buckley, Dominic Rains, and Joel Stoffer.

I previously reviewed season 4.
