Murdoch Mysteries (season 15)
{5/5} “With you, every day brings the possibility of magic, and I think we’re going to have a marvelous adventure together.” — Effie, to George
Murdoch Mysteries season 15, aired in 2021-22
Murdoch is in Montreal searching for Anna Fulford and Harry, who is his son. Crabtree has been kidnapped by the twins Amelia and Dorothy, and Amelia wants to marry him. Brackenreid is informed that his son Bobby has murdered someone and escaped from prison, and he’s not sure what to believe. Watts is investigating what might be a murder, but there’s no body to examine as it’s already been cremated. Julia offers a wife a chance to save her dying husband by doing a risky procedure she’s never done before.
In one episode there’s a ridiculous subplot about William looking after Henry’s baby — it doesn’t fit in with the tone of the show.
In various episodes Murdoch runs into Mary Pickford, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, and James Naismith. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hart goes to see civil rights activists Booker T. Washington and W. E. B. Du Bois.
Bea Santos plays Louise Cherry, Charles Vandervaart plays John Brackenreid, Alex Paxton-Beesley plays Freddie Pink, and Nigel Bennett plays former Chief Constable Giles.
I previously reviewed season 14.
