Awkward. (season 2)
{4/5} “OK, let’s stop making drama cakes for a sec and think tank this.”
Our favourite awkward high school student Jenna Hamilton is back for a second season. At the end of last season Jenna had found out who had written her the letter, and she had chosen between her two suitors. This season she tries to make her new relationship with Jake work and avoid Matty as much as possible. Tamara is still trying to date Ricky Schwartz. And Ming is accepted into “the Asians,” a group of Asians at her school who know everything about everyone.
Season 2 of Awkward. just finished airing.
It’s still a good show — it’s amusing, but didn’t grab me as much as season 1. On the other hand, I’m probably not in the target demographic. There’s a season 3 on the way but I think I’ll move on to other things.
Tamara is played by Jillian Rose Reed (the TV show Weeds), and Ming is played by Jessica Lu (guest star in a few TV shows). Matty is played by Beau Mirchoff (the TV show Desperate Housewives), and Jake is played by Brett Davern (Beautiful Ohio).
Jenna’s mom is played by Nikki Deloach (the TV show North Shore), and her dad is played by Mike Faiola (White Nights). Jenna’s nemesis Sadie is played by Molly Tarlov (guest star in a few TV shows), and wacky guidance counsellor Valerie is played by Desi Lydic (the TV show The Client List).
The series was created by Lauren Iungerich (My Two Fans).
