Gone Girl

{5/5} “When I think of my wife, I always think of the back of her head. I picture cracking her lovely skull, unspooling her brain, trying to get answers. The primal questions of a marriage: What are you thinking? How are you feeling? What have we done to each other? What will we do?”

Gone Girl, released in 2014

Nick owns a bar with his sister Margo. He comes home to find his wife Amy gone and a smashed glass table in the living room. He cooperates with police but some suspect he had something to do with her disappearance. We move forward with the investigation, and we also get flashbacks to when Nick and Amy first met and were married. The first half is a mystery and the second half is a different kind of mystery. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike star. Directed by David Fincher.

I previously reviewed Fincher’s movie Panic Room.
