The Illusionist

{4.5/5} “I saw remarkable things but the only mystery I never solved was… why my heart couldn’t let go of you.”

The Illusionist, released in 2006

Eisenheim the Illusionist is wowing crowds in Vienna. While performing his act he encounters his long-lost love Sophie — whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years. Sophie is from a higher stratum of society, and the powers that be will not let them be together. But will that stop them?

This is a highly enjoyable movie. It’s about love and illusion.

Stars Edward Norton and Jessica Biel. Directed by Neil Burger (Limitless). The music by Philip Glass fits the mood nicely.

This is the second time I’ve seen it.
