Star Trek: The Captain’s Summit
{4.5/5} “It has given me some of my closest lifelong friends. And every morning, no matter what mood I was in, I looked forward to going to work. No matter what the hour. I said I was going to spend the day with these clever, silly, talented, wonderful people. It was — and still is, when we get back together — the best job in the world.” — Jonathan Frakes
Star Trek: The Captain’s Summit, released in 2009
Whoopi Goldberg hosts a discussion with William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, and Jonathan Frakes. They talk about things that happened on Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation as well as things that happened outside of those shows. They also talk about how those shows have affected their lives.
For Star Trek fans, it’s a great opportunity to see these actors in a slightly different context than usual. It’s pretty casual — they don’t always even answer the questions that Goldberg asks. But they tell some great stories and they’re obviously having a good time.
They talk about the “Remember” line in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, how each of them became directors, and what it’s like to interact with fans.
Directed by Tim King (Farewell to the Star Trek Experience).
