Spectre
{4.5/5} “I won’t be long.” — Bond, to a woman he never returns to
Spectre, released in 2015
James Bond receives a message from his previous boss, M, who died. She wants him to track down a man and kill him, and he won’t let anything stop him. Because of a bit of a fiasco in Mexico his new boss, M, has grounded him. But perhaps with a bit of help from Moneypenny and Q he can still do what he needs to do.
The aspects that disappointed me the first time didn’t seem as significant this time.
M, Q, and Moneypenny all have terrific scenes.
It was filmed in the UK, Mexico, Morocco, Austria, and Italy.
Stars Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, and Ben Whishaw. Directed by Sam Mendes (Skyfall). The music by David Newman has some glorious moments but on the whole is not as great as Skyfall.
This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it. My first review is here.
They’re working on the next movie now. Bond’s decision at the end of this movie means that they’ll have a tricky time getting the beginning of the next movie right.
