Aquaman

{4.5/5} “A king only fights for his nation. You might for everyone.”

Aquaman, released in 2018

Arthur Currie, sometimes known as Aquaman, helps people in the sea — like saving a submarine full of people from pirates. His mother was from Atlantis and his father is a lighthouse keeper. Although he’s never been to Atlantis, they want his help to avert a war between Atlantis and the surface dwellers.

The movie has many amusing parts. The underwater scenes are visually delightful.

Jason Momoa easily convinces you he’s the strongest one around. The bad guys aren’t very interesting — other than that, it’s a great movie.

I liked how the guys in armor ran through walls of houses like they were nothing.

Stars Nicole Kidman and Willem Dafoe. Directed by James Wan (Furious 7). I liked the music by Rupert Gregson-Williams at the beginning of the movie but after that it got less interesting.

The previous movie in the DC universe was Justice League.
