Avengers: Endgame

{5/5} “Everyone fails at who they’re supposed to be, Thor. The measure of a person, of a hero, is how well they succeed at being who they are.”

Avengers: Endgame, released in 2019

The remaining Avengers have agreed that they will find Thanos and use the Infinity Stones to bring back the people that Thanos killed. Whatever it takes. They’re having trouble finding him, though. Until Nebula, his daughter, arrives — she knows where he is. They are shocked to find that Thanos has destroyed the Infinity Stones, and thus their plan has failed.

This is the culmination of 22 movies, and it’s astonishing. If you haven’t been watching the Marvel movies, this probably isn’t the one to start with.

There are many thrilling moments, many funny moments, and many beautiful moments. Once again Thanos is a worthy adversary.

One more quotation, from Natasha: “I don’t judge people on their worst mistakes.”

There are an astounding number of cameos.

Stars Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, and the voice of Bradley Cooper. Directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo (Avengers: Infinity War). The music by Alan Silvestri is stupendous — of course, making use of his Avengers theme.

The previous movie in the Marvel universe is Captain Marvel.
