Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka Volume 2

{4.5/5} “‘Answer me this, Kal… If our positions were reversed, would he have tested you, as well?’ ‘If our positions were reversed, Diana, I’d have already resigned from the League.'”

Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka Volume 2 by Greg Rucka, Drew Johnson & Rags Morales, published in 2017 (original comic books published in 2004-05)

When Medousa is resurrected she decides to kill Wonder Woman — and she partners with Veronica Cale to do it. Meanwhile, Diana meets with the President to discuss the warships off the coast of Themyscira. Meanwhile, on Mt. Olympus some of the gods plot to overthrow Zeus.

As in the previous volume, I enjoyed the parts on Earth more than the parts on Mt. Olympus. I enjoyed Greek mythology decades ago but it’s not quite as interesting now.

My second favourite character is Ferdinand, the Minotaur who is Diana’s chef. Other characters who show up are Batman, Superman, Flash, and Pegasus.

I’m still missing some things — characters show up who obviously have more importance than I’m aware of. But the story as a whole is a great one — about sacrifice, teamwork, and keeping promises.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read by Rucka. I previously reviewed Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka Volume 1.
