Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka Volume 3

{5/5} “Hope.”

Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka Volume 3 by Greg Rucka, Cliff Richards & Ray Snyder, published in 2019 (original comic books published in 2005-10)

Wonder Woman is attacked by Superman, and she discovers that Max Lord, the Black King, is controlling him. Superman and Wonder Woman fight nearly to death. In order to stop this — and to stop it from happening again — Wonder Woman kills Lord. This pits her against many of her friends, and she agrees to go to the Hague to stand trial.

This is the culmination of 3 books, and the end of Rucka’s run on Wonder Woman. It contains earth shattering events. I would have liked to have read one more book written by him, showing the consequences of what happens in this one.

Part of one storyline isn’t contained within this book — it’s probably part of a Justice League comic book. I would have preferred that they include it in order to get the whole story.

There are 1 or 2 confusing moments, but it’s an extraordinary book. In all situations Wonder Woman does what she believes is right, whatever the cost.

This is the 3rd graphic novel I’ve read by Rucka. I previously reviewed Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka Volume 2.
