Spy

{5/5} “I’m immune to 179 different types of poison. I know because I ingested them all at once when I was deep undercover in an underground poison-ingesting crime ring.”

Spy, released in 2015

Susan Cooper works for the FBI — while Bradley Fine goes into the field on missions, she’s the voice in his ear giving him instructions. But when Fine is killed and the other available agents are known to the target, Susan volunteers to go into the field herself. She must retrieve a portable nuclear weapon.

It’s a hilarious movie that’s also action packed. Melissa McCarthy is very funny as Susan.

It’s a bit like some Kevin Smith movies, in that 98% is brilliant and 2% is things I really didn’t want to see.

Stars Jude Law, Rose Byrne, and Jason Statham. Directed by Paul Feig (A Simple Favor).
