The Book of Boba Fett (season 1)

{4.5/5} “You can only get so far without a tribe.”

The Book of Boba Fett season 1, aired in 2021-22

Boba Fett is setting himself up as Daimyo on Tatooine, succeeding Bib Fortuna who succeeded Jabba the Hutt. He wants to rule by respect, not fear. His friend Fennec Shand is with him, as are a couple of capable Gamorrean guards. Meanwhile, when Boba Fett sleeps he remembers the time he escaped the Sarlacc Pit, got his armor taken by Jawas, and he himself captured by a Tusken tribe.

I like how we get to see Jabba the Hutt’s cousins, who are just as delightful as he was. I’m also glad we learn more about the Tusken people — and the rancor.

Fitting beautifully into the Star Wars world, Boba Fett becomes a much more interesting person. If you enjoyed The Mandalorian you’ll want to watch this show, and vice versa.

The majestic music by Joseph Shirley features themes from Ludwig Göransson.

Guest stars include Pedro Pascal, Sophie Thatcher, Stephen Root, and Danny Trejo.

The ultimate guest star returns, this time teaching Grogu about the Force.*

Stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen.

Created by Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian).

The previous TV show in the Star Wars universe, where we saw Boba Bett for the first time in decades, is The Mandalorian.

Spoiler alert

*Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker
