Sing 2
{4.5/5} “Release the piglets.”
Sing 2, released in 2021
Buster Moon thought the scout would love his “Alice in Wonderland” show, which is sold out every night, and invite him to perform in the big city. But she didn’t — she said he wasn’t good enough. Moon then convinces everyone to go the big city to play for the scout’s boss, because he thinks she’s wrong. Oddly enough, Mr. Crystal loves Gunter’s idea for a sci fi musical. Moon promises to get the famous musician Clay Calloway, even though he doesn’t know him.
This is the sequel to Sing.
I like the scene where they’re all mopping. The other auditions for Mr. Crystal are hilarious.
Although some aspects are familiar, it has enough fun and heart to keep you entertained.
It’s about getting people to do what they’re good at, returning to what you love after a heartbreak, and responding to your boss when they ask you to do something immoral.
Stars the voices of Scarlett Johansson, Nick Offerman, Bono, and Pharrell Williams. Directed by Garth Jennings and Christophe Lourdelet (directors of Sing). The soundtrack is filled with songs you love, and the score by Joby Talbot is delightful.
