Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

{5/5} “You have chosen… poorly.”

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, released in 1989

A man named Donovan comes to Indiana Jones telling him he’s on a quest for the Holy Grail and he’s got some artifacts that may lead to it. But his project leader has disappeared, and he wants Indy to find him — the project leader is Indy’s father. Indy travels to Venice to track him down. He follows clues to the First Knight’s tomb, where the path to the Grail becomes more clear.

Funny and fun, it’s the most rewatchable of the Indiana Jones movies.

I like the moment when Indy and Elsa see a painting of the Ark of the Covenant and Indy says that’s what it is. Elsa asks if he’s sure and he says, “Pretty sure.”

Scenes between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery are priceless.

River Phoenix plays Young Indy in the opening scene.

Stars Alison Doody, Denholm Elliott, and John Rhys-Davies. Directed by Steven Spielberg (Catch Me If You Can). The music by John Williams is glorious.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.
