DS9 Millennium: The War of the Prophets
{4.5/5} “We came here to put this question to Admiral Picard, but his time has passed. So I put it to you, Captain Nog. In all the universe, you are the only one who can save it now. Will you join us?”
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine — Millennium: The War of the Prophets by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens, published in 2000
After Captain Sisko witnessed the destruction of Deep Space Nine, the Defiant jumped 25 years into the future, where Thomas Riker commands a giant starship called the Opaka. There’s a battle going on, and Riker demands that Sisko pick a side — in the War of the Prophets. A Klingon ship decloaks, and Weyoun is in the captain’s chair. Meanwhile at Utopia Planitia, Captain Nog rushes to Fleet Admiral Picard’s aid, but he’s unable to save him and they’re both kidnapped by Romulans.
This is the sequel to The Fall of Terok Nor.
It’s an adventure with a big scope for our heroes, with the fate of the universe at stake. They’re in a future which is very different from any we’ve seen before, but all characters feel like themselves.
I’ve read 11 novels by the Reeves-Stevens.
