Back to the Future Part III
{5/5} “Great Scott!”
Back to the Future Part III, released in 1990
Marty received a letter from Doc saying he was fine living in 1885 as a blacksmith and he should leave him there and go back to 1985. But Marty discovers that Doc died only a week after he wrote the letter, so he must go back and rescue him. Marty works once again with the Doc of 1955 to make that happen. When he gets to 1885 he finds his ancestors, the McFly family. He also runs into Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen.
They actually asked Clint Eastwood if they could use his name in this movie — he said yes.
It’s about science experiments.
Doc Brown says one thing at the end that doesn’t make sense. Other than that, it’s a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy.
One more quotation: “Marty, you’re not thinking fourth dimensionally.”
ZZ Top are actually in the movie, playing their song at the festival.
Stars Mary Steenburgen, Marc McClure, and Wendie Jo Sperber. Directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future Part II). Alan Silvestri gives his score a delightful western flavour. The song “Doubleback” by ZZ Top is also terrific.
This is the 4th or 5th time I’ve seen it.
