Jimmy is a therapist, but he’s been having a tough time himself lately — his wife died a while ago. When he gets a bit fed up, he decides to try a new strategy in therapy — telling patients what he really thinks. He convinces one woman to leave her verbally abusive husband. Then he convinces a young man, Sean, who used to be a soldier and has anger issues to take that aggression out in the boxing ring. Jimmy is trying to get back into his daughter Alice’s life, and Sean helps him with that.
With a glorious cast, the unique characters and situations will keep you watching. It’s both screamingly funny and also deals with serious topics.
Neil Flynn has a nice cameo in one episode.
Ted McGinley has a small but fun part as Liz’s husband Derek. Wendie Malick plays Paul’s doctor.
