Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
{4/5} “There’s something I should have told you.”
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, released in 2023
While Scott Lang was gone for 5 years during the blip, his daughter Cassie was investigating the quantum realm. When the Langs and the Van Dynes get together to talk about it, Janet is about to warn them about something when Cassie’s machine sucks them all in. Now all of them are in the quantum realm, where Janet was stuck for 30 years.
This is the sequel to, among other things, Ant-Man and the Wasp.
It’s visually unique, and Paul Rudd is delightful as always.
You’ll want to watch it if you’re an Ant-Man fan, but it’s not quite as interesting as his other adventures. It suffers from two common problems. First, there are scenes that are all or mostly CGI that just aren’t gripping. Second, the bad guy is just bad because he’s bad.
The actors do their best, and there are some great parts, but there are also some silly parts.
Stars Kathryn Newton, William Jackson Harper, Bill Murray, and Katy M. O’Brian. Directed by Peyton Reed (Yes Man). The music is by Christophe Beck — his interpretation of the theme for the end credits is very nice.
