Galaxy Quest
{5/5} “There’s a red thingy moving toward the green thingy. I think we’re the green thingy.”
Galaxy Quest, released in 1999
Jason Nesmith is disappointed to find that his fellow actors on the show Galaxy Quest don’t actually like him. Then some Thermians from the Klaatu Nebula ask for his help. He thinks they’re just people dressed up in costumes, but they’re actual aliens. When he realizes the truth, he asks his fellow actors for help. He initially thinks defeating the evil Sarris with the ship’s firepower will be easy, but they run into trouble.
This is one of the funniest movies ever made.
It is an homage to Star Trek, a beautiful one.
Enrico Colantoni and Missi Pyle do an outstanding job at portraying aliens. Justin Long has a small part.
Stars Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell. Directed by Dean Parisot (Bill & Ted Face the Music). The majestic music is by David Newman.
This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.
