Knock at the Cabin

{5/5} “You’re my friend, Wen. No matter what happens, I want you to remember that. The others who are coming are more like… people I work with.”

Knock at the Cabin, released in 2023

Eric and Andrew are with their daughter Wen at their cabin when four people break in. They aren’t like normal people who break in, though — they’re not robbing them or anything. They are even apologetic. They have come to inform them that an apocalypse is coming. And only the three of them can stop it — by making a terrible choice.

It’s about what happens when people who are really convinced of something ask you to do something that you could never do.

The way that they made the people who break in sympathetic characters is very well done.

It’s stunning — Shyamalan still has the power to astonish you.

Stars Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, and Kristen Cui. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (Old). The ominous music is by Herdís Stefánsdóttir.
