Better Than Us (season 1)

{4.5/5} “You are authorized as the main user. The family is complete.”

Better Than Us season 1, aired in 2018-19

Georgy’s wife is planning on taking his kids to Australia and not coming back. So he keeps Sonya with him, to prevent that from happening. Meanwhile, Victor buys a new robot that’s a prototype. He keeps it in his office, intending it to be a secret from everybody. But it kills one of the guards and leaves — even though it’s not supposed to do either of those things. The dead guard ends up in Georgy’s morgue.

This is a Russian show. It has a terrific look to it.

I especially like the relationship between the girl Sonya and the robot Arisa.

Every single character is doing something they’re not supposed to be doing. Some of them are more ruthless than others.

The futuristic music is by Dmitriy Lanskoy. I like the musical cue for Arisa in the first few episodes.

The story is gripping. They mostly wrap things up by the end, but it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger as they intended to have another season. But it was cancelled.

Stars Paulina Andreeva, Kirill Käro, and Aleksandr Ustyugov.

Created by Alexander Kessel (The Counted).
