Puss in Boots

{4.5/5} “‘Is it true a cat always lands on its feet?’ ‘No, that is just a rumour spread by dogs.'”

Puss in Boots, released in 2011

Puss in Boots is a fugitive, wanted by the law. But he doesn’t steal from churches or orphans. When men in a saloon reveal that Jack and Jill have found some magic beans, he decides to grab them for himself. But when he gets to their hotel room another cat in a mask is there to foil his plans. When he tracks the other cat down, instead of fighting they have a dance off.

This story takes place before Shrek. It reveals how Puss got his boots, and how he’s really not such a bad cat.

I like how when Puss cuts a piece of glass out of a window it’s the exact shape he needs to fit his body through.

It’s lots of fun.

Stars the voices of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, and Zach Galifianakis. Directed by Chris Miller (Shrek the Third). The Spanish flavoured music is by Henry Jackman.
