Star Trek: Lost to Eternity

{4.5/5} “Yet I remind you that we already have significant assets in play on Atraz, including a shuttlecraft, the rescue party, and Captain Kirk’s own demonstrated tenacity and resourcefulness. He has escaped captivity, and survived all manner of jeopardy, on more worlds than I have time to enumerate.”

Star Trek: Lost to Eternity by Greg Cox, published in 2024

In 2024 there’s a podcast about how Gillian Taylor disappeared in 1986. In 2268 Captain Kirk and the Enterprise are called on to rescue a scientist who’d been working on top-secret medical advances. In 2292 Captain Kirk joins with representatives from the Klingons and Romulans to visit the mysterious Osori. Prior to now the Osori had kept to themselves, even cloaking their entire planet.

Cox uses his deep knowledge of Star Trek to craft 3 engaging storylines that dovetail perfectly.

Kirk, Spock, and Saavik play large roles in the story. I like the character of Melinda, who demonstrates courage and determination.

This is the 16th book I’ve read by Cox. I previously reviewed Star Trek: The Rings of Time.
