To Guard Against the Dark
{4.5/5} “AllThereIs did not forget, nor forgive. There were ‘entities’ within it, Sira’d warned, who reacted to threat. When the Hoveny breached their home with devices designed to feed from its energy, those entities responded. Their defense had ended the vast Hoveny Concentrix.”
To Guard Against the Dark by Julie E. Czerneda, published in 2017
After some number of days the being upset at the loss of Sira, Jason finally comes out of his room to talk to his friend Huido. A Rugheran has visited him, but who knows what it wants. Lydia Bowman wants to know about all the Hoveny artifacts that have disappeared. Then Bowman gives him a new purpose — find out who’d been behind the Assemblers attacking the Clan.
This is the sequel to The Gate to Futures Past. It wraps up the novels in The Clan Chronicles.
It’s about people pursuing mysteries and bad guys in, in one case, a new body.
It’s a worthy conclusion, which everyone comes together for including the delightful Drapsk.
I’ve read 18 books by Czerneda.
