Full Speed to a Crash Landing

{5/5} “Because, see, the law says a ship crash can be scavenged if it’s not reported by the government as off-limits. And Roundabout’s not been reported. So, I’m in the right here, and just because you don’t like that don’t mean I’m breaking the law… but you, on the other hand, ignored a distress call for hours.”

Full Speed to a Crash Landing by Beth Revis, published in 2024

Ada has a hole in her ship so she sends out a distress signal. There’s another ship in range, but it waits a long time to answer. Ada is in a suit with the oxygen running low by the time they come near enough for rescue. Ada was scavenging metal from a crashed ship on an inhospitable planet, and the people on the Halifax are also scavenging but are hazy on the details.

This is a novella.

It has a delightful tone, and I will definitely read the sequel. Revis paints a vivid picture of the world.

It’s about what happens when you fall for someone even though you’re working around them.

This is the 1st book I’ve read by Revis.
