Fountain of Youth

{3.5/5} “You have foolishly overlooked my team of lethal bodyguards.”

Fountain of Youth, released in 2025

Luke stole a painting from some dangerous people in Bangkok and barely makes it onto a train heading out of the city. Somehow people who want it are on the train with him, and try to get it from him. He manages to escape, and makes his way to London to see his sister Charlotte. He distracts her in order to steal a painting from her gallery. Even though she’s upset at him, he wants her to join his team searching for the Fountain of Youth.

This movie resembles Indiana Jones and The Da Vinci Code and does so in a reasonable way, at least at first. There are some great locations, like the wreck of the Lusitania and the Great Pyramid.

I liked the beginning, but it got a bit too cynical and silly for my taste. My rating kept going down.

This is common, but it stood out to me: No named character expresses regret for the death of an unnamed character.

Stars John Krasinski, Natalie Portman, Domhnall Gleeson, and Stanley Tucci. Directed by Guy Ritchie (The Man from UNCLE).
