Monsters vs. Aliens

{4.5/5} “‘I think I just got hit by a meteorite.’ ‘Oh, Susan. Every bride feels that way on their wedding day.'”

Monsters vs. Aliens, released in 2009

Susan is just about to get married when she’s hit by a meterorite that causes her to become gigantic. She’s whisked off by the government to a top-secret location. She is startled at the monsters who live there. A general tells her that she’s now called Ginormica and she can’t leave. When a robot comes down from space and isn’t friendly, the general tells the President that monsters are the answer.

This movie is lots of fun.

It is, of course, partly about how beings who look like monsters might not be monsters.

There’s a fair amount of mayhem near the end but that’s true of lots of animated movies.

Stars Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, and Will Arnett. Directed by Rob Letterman (Shark Tale) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2).

This is the 2nd time I’ve watched it.
