Abbott Elementary (season 1)

{4.5/5} “‘New experiences can be tough.’ ‘Which I get. I remember the first time I had clam chowder. Cause it was yesterday, and it was awful.'” — Janine & Gregory

Abbott Elementary season 1, aired in 2021-22

Janine is a 2nd grade teacher at an elementary school in Philadelphia that doesn’t have a lot of money. When the principal actually receives some money from the board, she spends it on a sign. Janine would really like a new rug for her classroom, and her fellow teacher Melissa is able to arrange it — she knows a guy. When a new student transfer into Janine’s class she is initially happy about it, but the student is a bit disruptive.

This is a fun show that also shows you something about what it’s like to be a teacher.

The mockumentary format works well for these characters.

Stars Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, and Janelle James.

Created by Quinta Brunson (writer on Quinta vs. Everything).
