Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, released in 1980
The Rebels have retreated to Hoth, a snowy world. Darth Vader has sent out probes looking for them. Han and Chewbacca destroy a probe they find, but they also realize that the Empire probably knows where they are now. They start an evacuation, and manage to get some ships away while fighting a ground battle. After helping, Luke follows Ben’s instructions and goes to Dagobah to be trained by Yoda.
This is the sequel to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
Darth Vader is at his most vicious, Yoda is at his most mysterious, and Han and Leia are at their most bicker-y.
With lots of fun parts and a hint of romance, this was the best movie in the original trilogy. Its twist is well known, but for people coming to it for the first time it’s one M. Night Shyamalan would be proud of.
Stars Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch, David Prowse, and the voices of James Earl Jones and Frank Oz. Directed by Irvin Kershner (Never Say Never Again). The score by John Williams contains my all-time favourite track, “The Imperial March.”
This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve seen it.
