Star Trek: Veritas
{4.5/5} “‘Come to think of it, I can’t remember the last time I went shopping without you or Chekov — or both of you.’ ‘There’s a reason for that. Ever since you came back to the ship with a tribble, Captain Kirk’s given us explicit orders to keep an eye on you!'” — Uhura & Sulu
Star Trek: Veritas by Howard Weinstein, Timothy de Haas & David de Vries, published in 6 issues from Mar. 1992 to Jul. 1992
Sulu and Uhura have gotten lost in the huge Quatrin space station while on shore leave. Just when they’re ready to beam up they witness Quatrini soldiers killing four people. After the soldiers beam out they realize one of the victims is still alive. They beam up to the Enterprise with him so that Dr. McCoy can save his life. Once he’s resting, Kirk and the others try to figure out what’s going on.
Sulu and Uhura have big roles in the main story. There are also 2 1-issue stories in this batch, both of which are quite good for being so short.
The artwork by Gordon Purcell and Al Vey is great. The artwork by James W. Fry and Bud LaRosa is more stylized but still good.
This is the 2nd time I’ve read it.
I’ve read 5 novels and a bunch of comic books by Weinstein. I previously reviewed Star Trek: Class Reunion.
