Polly, a teenager on Mars, is sent by her mother to Galileo Academy on Earth. She has trouble with the gravity — and many of her classmates and teachers. She wants to be a pilot, and won’t let anything get in the way of that. Her twin brother Charles says they’re playing a game but Polly doesn’t know the rules and isn’t interested in playing.
This isn’t a bad book — I’m just not the right audience. It’s for young adults — although the blurbs on the book might fool you into thinking otherwise.
How would a visitor to Earth react who’s never been here before?
I’m not a big fan in general of the going away to school and getting picked on by students and teachers storyline.
This is the 2nd book I’ve read by Vaughn. I previously reviewed After the Golden Age.
