Finding Nemo

{4.5/5} “Fish are friends, not food.”

Finding Nemo, released in 2003

Marlin is a clown fish. His only son Nemo is caught by a human diver and driven away in a boat. He swims off in search of Nemo, and meets up with a fish named Dory who is forgetful but nevertheless joins him on his journey. Meanwhile, Nemo is put in an aquarium in a dentist’s office and he tries to escape from there.

The animation of the ocean flora and fauna is delightful.

In terms of the characters, both the ones in the ocean and the ones in the aquarium are splendid. The turtles are glorious. The expression on the kid’s face when he hears the screaming in the dentist’s office is priceless.

Although it’s not quite a Pixar masterpiece, it is a great movie.

It’s about what you can do when you have friends.

Stars the voices of Willem Dafoe, Brad Garrett, and Allison Janney. Directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Dory) and Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3). The gentle music is by Thomas Newman.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen it.
