Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas

{5/5} “‘I heard this one woman singing ‘Umbrella’ cause she thought it might rain outside, so you know what I did?’ ‘Gave her an umbrella.'”

Zoey’s Extraordinary Christmas, released in 2021

Zoey is facing her first Christmas without her dad. Her family has decided to split up and go their own way, and she told them that was fine, but she’s really not fine with it. Before sending her employees off for the holidays, she judges a remarkably sophisticated gingerbread house competition. Max feels like the heart songs are a great thing, and he’s helping people left and right. When Mo picks up Perry’s daughter he can’t help but give the choir some tips.

Even if it’s not Christmas anymore you can still enjoy this movie, particularly if you watched the series that came before it, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist.

It contains the delightful song and dance numbers you expect.

It’s about making new traditions, and allowing people you love to make mistakes.

David James Elliott makes a nice appearance as a Christmas tree salesman.

Stars Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Mary Steenburgen, and Alex Newell. Directed by Richard Shepard (The Matador).
