Jurassic World Dominion
{4.5/5} “You put two apex predators in one valley, pretty soon there’s only one.”
Jurassic World Dominion, released in 2022
Dinosaurs have spread across the Earth. Biosyn Genetics wants to bring them to the mountains in Italy, and hopes to gain pharmaceutical knowledge from studying them. Claire and Owen are both rescuing dinosaurs. They’re also trying to protect Maisie but they know they can’t keep her cooped up forever.
This is the sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
The visuals are terrific. The characters from the original movie don’t have just cameos — they have important roles.
It has an interesting story, plus lots of dinosaurs-chasing-humans action. It’s about treating animals, and people, with respect.
Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and BD Wong reprise their roles from the original Jurassic Park.
Stars Dichen Lachman, Isabella Sermon, and Campbell Scott. Directed by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World). The music by Michael Giacchino contains hints of John Williams’ themes.
This may be the Last Jedi of the series in terms of reaction — but just because something isn’t what you expected doesn’t make it bad. Also, if there’s a difference between the ratings from males and the ratings from females on IMDb, which there is for this movie, you can bet that the rating from females is more accurate.
