Moon
{5/5} “I’m here to keep you safe, Sam. I want to help you.”
Moon, released in 2009
Sam works on the Moon on a mining operation by himself, with just his robot Gerty for company. He’s been there for 3 years and he’s ready to go back to Earth. He’s got 2 weeks left on his contract. He gets a message from his wife that makes him feel better. After an accident, he disobeys orders and goes back outside — and finds that Gerty and the company have been lying to him.
There’s a twist.
It answers the question: What would you do if you found out your life was not what you thought it was?
If you think that Sam Rockwell is the perfect actor for this movie — the director wrote it just for him. Rockwell is always brilliant — here he gets to shine as the star.
I liked it even better this time.
Stars the voice of Kevin Spacey. Directed by Duncan Jones (Source Code). Clint Mansell’s music over the opening credits is particularly brilliant.
This is the 2nd time I’ve seen it.
