Prehistoric Planet (season 2)
{5/5} “Journey to a time when nature put on its greatest show.”
Prehistoric Planet season 2, aired in 2023
This season’s episodes are divided into habitats: islands, badlands, swamps, oceans, and North America. Here are some of the dinosaurs shown:
- Giant pteurosaurs, even though they could obviously fly, did their hunting on the ground
- Isisaurus will travel through treacherous lava-filled territory to get to a caldera where it’s safe to lay their eggs
- Devil toads are so big they can swallow a small dinosaur whole
- Tyrannosaurs have the largest eyes of any dinosaur, which gives them superb low-light vision — and they have soft pads on the bottom of their feet so they can walk silently through the forest
- Some elasmosaurs travel thousands of kilometres to the North Pole in the spring, where they eat mud from the bottom of the ocean — which contains lots of small animals
- Mosasaurs, the ultimate marine predator, could propel themselves from nothing to full speed by pushing off with their tail
See more predator/prey action, and parents doing their best for their children.
I previously reviewed season 1.
