Dollhouse: Epitaphs
{4.5/5} “I’m used to being scared. I’ve been scared ever since my uncle got printed. But I killed people today. And now I feel like a bad guy. Just like the people who killed Uncle Wendall.”
Dollhouse: Epitaphs by Andrew Chambliss, Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharoen, published in 2012
When the apocalypse happens most people answer their phones and are turned into child-like people or monsters. The few that didn’t answer the phone try to survive. When young Trevor runs into Alpha, Alpha trains him for the fight ahead. He gives him the technology so he can do upgrades. Then he will go looking for his old friend Echo.
This is a very nice in-between story that shows what a dangerous time the apocalypse was.
It’s about how Rossum turned the world into a wasteland and a few people fought back. It’s about how people interact when the same personality is imprinted in multiple bodies.
The artwork is OK.
Fans of the show will enjoy it. A few of your favourite characters show up — Echo, Paul, Ivy, and Mag.
It’s described as “Volume 1” in various places but there was no Volume 2.
I previously read graphic novels in Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 9 by Andrew Chambliss.
Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen were co-creators of Agents of SHIELD.
